Xiangfei Bamboo, also called "Tear Bamboo" is a bamboo species native to Hunan, Fujian, and Guizhou provinces of China, characterized by extraordinary natural tear-drop patterns formed on its tube from fungi erosion during the process of growth, which can come in both red and purple. Due to its low production volume, it has been an extremely precious material utilized in traditional and modern Chinese stationery-making and fan-making.
